Retrograde, Schmetrograde

Those who know me will vouch for my excessive organization skills and attention to detail. And yet, last week I don’t think a day went by when I didn’t send my husband a text along the lines of, “I forgot deodorant today”, “I left my lunch in the fridge today”, “I forgot to shave the 80 pound gorilla”.

… And we’re back

I apologize for my impromptu and unannounced hiatus from the blog. It wasn’t planned but born of too much to do in too little time. So many people sent me messages or told me in person how much they like my blog and that really meant a lot to me. So I’m back. And that […]

Yard Sale Folk

If you’re having a yard sale I hope you make a ton of cash. If you’re not having a yard sale then you might want to check and make sure you’re not a hoarder. Just kidding. I’m sure you’ll know if you’re a hoarder because the production team from Hoarders will arrive unannounced on your doorstep and tell you.

Why complain about something that’s good?

For all the times I hear someone (and occasionally ‘someone’ is me) wishing we weren’t so connected to the internet there are far more times when I appreciate it and what it does for me. I am able to keep in more frequent touch with loved ones, like my cousin Erin in Canada, who is celebrating her birthday today. (Happy Birthday, Erin!) I made this!

He chose chocolate so I set about searching the intarwebs far and wide for recipes. I was looking for something with whole and real ingredients, such as butter instead of vegetable oil. If you’re going to make a cake, make a cake, you know? When it comes to baked goods a person should never mess around, yumminess is not to be trifled with.

The Story of Stuff

I like to buy stuff. I like to have the latest and greatest in electronics and fashion. I want to keep up with Joneses, even though there is a big part of me that fully rejects the idea of being concerned with such things as fashion, having the latest and greatest and buying into the notion of name brands. And why should I even care what the Joneses are doing? What makes me think their taste is so great? They probably listen to R. Kelly and put out human-sized waving Santa Clauses on their lawn every December 1.
