As Saturday’s game went on I watched several fights break out in the crowd. These are people gathered in the same place at the same time because they share a love for this game. But despite the commonality between them it took almost nothing to spark an argument between fans in the stands.
It’s not as bad as I thought it would be, this getting older and, hopefully, wiser. It makes me think of my Grandpa’s recent birthday party, the one at which we celebrated his big 9-0.
On Sunday I took a hike toward a place called The Bridge to Nowhere with my friends Rachel and Amy. And I want to admit to you, here and now because I value our relationship, that we didn’t quite reach it.

Anything could be possible on a long drive with the expanse of the road stretching before you and behind you and the cruise control that keeps us from focusing inward on a daily basis has been disengaged.
